Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA

Belhaven is a brewery that hails from Scotland. The brewery was established around since 1719 and has been brewing ever since. The Twisted Thistle is a English style IPA that has more of a malty flavor than hops. Since this medium bodied beer was not overloaded by hops, it would be a great starter for people just getting into IPAs.
The beer was light amber in color and poured with a good amount of head. Even though this beer is called "Thistle", after flowering plants that have spikes coming from them, I found it to be less than prickly. This was a very drinkable beer, but I would have preferred it to be a little more bitter than sweet.
